Genre Defining Tracks

In my timeline, I plan to use genre defining tracks at each step. These tracks will be picked on the basis of being seminal works or breakthrough tracks for that genre.

First up is James Brown's Papa's got a Brand New Bag. This is the first funk track recognised for emphasing the down beat rather than the up or the first and third beats rather than second and fourth. This work is widely credited for shaping the sound of funk.
